Staff Head OR Wrapping - Guild Wars Forums

If i was to salvage a staff - lets say the one from this thread:

how can you know what will be salvaged

will the Energy +5 be salvaged or the +27hp AND how do you know if it will be a head or a wrapping is there any way to know?

Weapon salvaging confuses the hell out of me so any help would be greatly appreciated

It is a chance between the Insightful upgrade, the fortitude upgrade, and crafting materials. There is a greater chance to get an upgrade, however, the chance for materials is still present.

I believe the Insightful is the head, and the fortitude is the wrap. The upgrade name listed first is always one part, and the upgrade listed last is always one other part. For example, on a bow it would be "bow string" bow of "bow grip".

the Energy +5 is the Staff Head and the +27HP is the Staff Wrapping

and it is all chance... but like aB- said... u have a greater chance of getting the head or wrapping then the materials

Also, according to my experience, the chance of salvaging the wrapping is higher than the head. I've salvaged something between 5-10 staffs and didn't get a single staff head, but about 5 wrappings.
